Product Description:
brand new high quality
Made of high quality material,
These create parts that are much more convenient and professional than using "captive nuts" (where you have to design a slot for the nut, then place the nut in the slot and hold it there while holding the screw). They can also be used in situations where certain retaining nuts don’t work.
Insert them into holes in the print that are slightly smaller than the inserts, and use a soldering iron to melt the plastic around the inserts into place. The insert has a slight taper and small fins around which the plastic can , creating a very strong bond.
Instead of tweaking your design around the constraints of 3D printing (supports, print bed size, etc.), separate your parts into individual components that are held in place using these inserts and machine screws. Not only does this give you more flexibility when designing parts, but it also allows you to reprint only failed components rather than complete assemblies – saving time and money.
These are 1/4-20 thread, which is the correct size for most camera tripods.
Height/OAL is 0.3", *approximately* recommended hole size is 0.363", tapering to 0.349".
The depth should be approximately 0.030" greater than the OAL of the insert.
The optimal hole size for your application may vary due to several factors (3D pri nter calibration, material, temperature, etc.). This should be a good starting point for you to experiment to find the best value to use.
Package Included:
20 * brass nuts
